While writing, you can use this simple yet detailed guide. Applying these basics can help you write content that may show up in search results. That's going to be your search engine optimization.


1. Write a heading to begin with. At least one idea to begin with is necessary to write your blog post. Deciding upon the headline first will help you to focus and develop your blog content within a defined framework.

2. Make sure who is going to read your post. When you know who is going to read your blog post, it will be much easier to be direct with your writing. If you are writing your first and don't know who is going to read, there are various buyer persona templates that can help you figure out.

3. Keep your purpose in mind. When you create your blog digital content, you should always keep in mind the purpose of creating it. It can be anything from your marketing plan to building brand awareness, capturing email subscribers or boosting S.E.O., etc.

4. One primary keyword in your headline is necessary. This keyword needs to say what your post is all about. You need to write at least one primary keyword that is best related to the industry you are writing about. This word should be relatively popular and have a certain degree of keyword difficulty that you can likely rank for.

5. Add three or four secondary keywords. These secondary or related keywords are also known as L.S.I. (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords. These are the words that appear in bold text when you perform a search on Google. There are related to the primary target keyword you are using for your post.

6. Your post should not be very short. Write in a way that covers your topic fully. In no case your blog post should be less than 300 words. Let the search engines know what you have written is a thorough resource and not an incomplete piece of text.

7. Try to add value to your writingWhile writing, provide all the necessary details, facts, statistics, takeaways, news, and information with appropriate examples. This will help your readers to understand in a better way, and to absorb the message you are trying to share.

14. Use right size images. You should avoid using very large images. Images that have a large file size consume a lot of data to download and can create problems for your readers by reducing download speeds.

15. Always! Include an image and S.E.O. it, too. Add at least one high quality image or graphic on your page. Include the page’s target keyword in the image alt tag. This tag should be a short text keeping your reader in mind.

16. Check for copyright. Always make sure whether the picture, digital photo or video you are going to use has a copyright or it is free to use. This is absolutely necessary to avoid copyright infringement and related problems.

17. Your page title should contain the primary keyword. While doing this is important, you should ensure your page title is unique. This is important to avoid duplicate title tag issues. Duplicate title tags can negatively impact your S.E.O. efforts. Usually, you can use the same page title as your headline.

18. Your primary keyword should be used in the meta-description. Write an original meta-description containing your primary keyword. This should no longer than 160 characters.

19. End the copy of your blog post with the primary keyword. By using the primary keyword at the end of your blog post, with references to the target phrase, is essential for search engine optimization.

20. Your primary keyword should be used naturally in your contentNever use your primary keyword too much. There should be a limit on its usage. Normally, a 2% keyword usage is recommended for better search engine optimization.

21. Use each secondary keyword at least once in the copy. Every blog writer should ensure that the chosen primary keyword is supported by adding their related keyword at least once in the post.

22. Internal relevant pages should be linked. If you have written other blog posts that are relevant to the post you are writing, add relevant hyperlinks to such internal pages.

23. High-quality web pages should be linked. High quality web pages that work as relevant outbound, and are S.E.O. friendly, should be linked with your blog post and set to open in a new window. This will keep readers on your blog even if they click a link to another website.
